the beginning

Well here it is...I started a blog. Now I don't know why I'm actually starting a blog because quite honestly I'm not a "sharing" kind of person. I'm introverted...I keep things to myself...and if I do share anything you better think you're special because if you knew me you would know that I don't. I have come to the conclusion that the actual reason I started this is because I needed an outlet to vent, talk, share etc. Even if no one reads this I can send it out into the abyss that is the internet.

Since this is considered to be the beginning I guess I'll explain the title of this blog. It is an oxymoron of sorts; peace and love are considered to be positive things. Things that I wish I experienced more of on a daily basis. Koyannisqatsi is more of what my life is. If you do not know what Koyannisqatsi is...prepare to be enlightened.

A brilliant man named Godfrey Reggio directed this film in 1982. Two more brilliant men named Phillip Glass (music) and Ron Fricke (cinematography) also took part in this movie. This movie is in no way, shape, or form ordinary/normal. There is no standard plot, the music is considered to be the voice and the images, I believe, are the actors. Although the images are really more of a point of interest. Both of these things combined show you things to try and make a point. First, you are supposed to decide how you feel about what you are shown or what you hear. Second, technology is not used its lived. Third, by Hopi definition Koyaanisqatsi translates to: life of moral corruption and turmoil or life out of balance. The latter definition is that which I love.

I mean quite honestly, who's life isn't out of balance?
